It took two trips...

and a stop at JY Bamboo for supper.

but I am now assembling my bed.  This is my headboard with the main brace reattached.

The etching on my headboard is very pretty.  It's solid wood two inches thick. you can see a detail of my cute flannel snowflake sheets in the background.

Now the headboard is fully assembled.  once I had the width of it I decided it needed to be in a different place so that the headboard didn't stick out past the window.

now the headboard and footboard are all connected with the rails. time to put the box back in.

It's lowidge! (translation: It's large)

Well then,  there it is in all it's bleu glorei

One last touch. Whee... it's bedtime!

Still am curious as to when the bed frame was made. No marks, that I could find, of manufacturer etc.
Yes I agree. It would be interesting to know when and where it was made. It's definitely not a modern technique. the wood is solid and not veneered, not chunks pasted together and then carved either. It's very solid. I like that. Feels very earthy.
i like the dogwood and tulips
I really like the etching too. It's very nice.
That last touch is perfect!
Yay, that looks very nice.
I knew you would like it. All this blue! hahaha. Friday I bought a little blue bed for start and put it on the corner. She spent a fair amount of time in it yesterday. Right now she's on te other corner.
She also keeps bringing her BLUE mouse up onto the bed. She is very smart and knows it matches.
How does it feel, having a bed?
It's kind of weird actually. I still have some muscle soreness from sleeping in it because I'm not used to it. It's really comfortable though. I have to *climb up* onto it. hahaha. It's really tall.
I love my bed. Even when the dogs are all piled against me. :D
